First published in 2014 the UKFV Investment Seafood Brochure continues to give confidence to investors and stakeholders in an unrivalled proposition to locate to this thriving cluster. And whilst much has changed in those 12 years, the need for this sector to grow remains undimmed.

Since 2021, the seafood cluster focused on Grimsby has continued to invest and develop.  Major new and recent investments include the new Constellation Cold Store; investment in a National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) team in Grimsby; and planning permission being secured by Aquacultured Limited for the UK’s first commercial scale on land salmon farm, on land adjacent to the fish processing cluster (see full interview in this edition).  In addition, in early 2025 the Seafood Grimsby and Humber Alliance became the UK Seafood Federation as it expanded to take on a national role – and again, you can read a further insight interview with Simon Dwyer in this bulletin.

As we look forward, the future is bright for the seafood sector, and the UK Food Valley team working with partners in North and North East Lincolnshire will continue to promote seafood and food processing clusters as one of three main agrifood clusters in Greater Lincolnshire, alongside the food processing cluster in south Lincolnshire and the rapidly growing agritech cluster centred on Lincoln.

The UK Food Valley team are keen to reach out to attract more investment, and if you have ideas on how we can do more to grow the sector or would like to be put in contact with regional partners please contact Effie Warwick-John at effie.warwick-john@lincolnshire.gov.uk
